We could spin propaganda all day about how good a pub the Fulford Arms is. Here are some things that our customers have said…
“My husband & I had the good fortune to be advised by the owner of the Fulford Arms, who happened to be at the bar of the Waggon & Horses on our one night in York a week ago – we were staying there but just discovered no dinner was served. “Try the Fulford Arms, I’ve just teamed up with Lewis & Duncan & their food is great!” This was a challenge too enticing to refuse. After 20 minutes in pouring rain, we found the Fulford Arms and had an absolutely sublime meal. We give Lewis & Duncan 5 stars. Our server suggested we try the warm brownies with fudge sauce & vanilla ice cream for dessert and that put the evening over the top. The best word I can think of to describe our reaction is a little risque so I won’t risk it for fear of offending someone. May I ask a huge favor? If I promise to not breathe a word to a soul, would Lewis & Duncan be willing to share the recipe for the brownies & sauce with me? I love to cook for my family and dessert is one of our main food groups, and my husband & I would love to be able to relive that wonderful evening, knowing we’ll return to the Fulford Arms on our next trip to York, but that may be way in the future as we can’t afford to cross the pond every summer. We thank you for the special memories & hope you’ll be willing to send the recipes.” (Becky & Phelps, Florida, USA, July 2012)
“Thanks for a great night with some of the best real ale I’ve sampled. The music was top notch too.” (Rob & Sarah, Alfreton)
“We saw an advert for your pub in the York CAMRA magazine and decided to have a walk along the river and visit. We are so glad we did. The staff were a delight and the ale was spot on. We’ll be back next year!” (D & S, Durham)
“Had to pop in on a visit to York after laughing at some of your Twitter posts. Came on quiz night and had a brilliant time and soon forgot about the rain outside. Awesome cheese and biscuits too.” (Kieran, Ramsgate)
