JUNE
Sun 2nd - THE BLUEFLIES – (4pm-7pm) - The Blueflies are a hard rocking blues power trio based in York. Fronted by Miles Gilderdale on Electric Guitar. The band play classic rock from Hendrix to Free along with many blues and rock classics.
Fri 7th – PLOSNAT SOCIETY – Power 3-piece from Knaresborough featuring ex You Slosher pat Corner-Walker on the drums.
Sat 8th – JONNY & THE RIZLAS – (Review from Galtres Festival) The Rizlas set of covers was thoroughly entertaining and pleased the crowd no end. Covering everybody from The Small Faces, The Jam, The Buzzcocks, Elvis and The Queens Of The Stone Age, they provided something for everyone. The not so young four piece played brilliantly, the set was musically very tight and vocally very good, with plenty of between track banter to rouse the crowd and add to the entertainment factor of The Rizlas, very good set.
Fri 14th - HALF HAND HOODOO BLUES BAND - 100% blues guaranteed from Dave Smith’s trio.
Wed 19th – BLUEBOTTLE VEINS - Rediscovering a sound that has lay dormant for too long. A visceral mix of rock ‘n’ roll ‘n’ blues. The Bluebottle Veins come from North WaLes and are going to the top. They play a switchblade sharp jam of blues and rock n roll. Somehow, though, they have managed to make it into their own and it sounds urgent, vital and brilliant. They like to call themselves ‘blues rock with a jaunty little hat on’ which is all very fab and amusing but doesn’t tell you how thrilling their music is.
Sun 23rd - PAUL MIDDLETON & THE ANGST BAND (4pm-7pm) - ”Paul Middleton…a hybrid between Howling Wolf, meets Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa.” It’s amazing who turns up at Fulford Arms. Take Paul Middleton and his band Angst for instance… Any music lovers who might have ventured as far as Harrogate will no doubt know the name of this great and unique blues player through his long time residency at the towns Blues Bar. Older music lovers might also remember him as a member of Wally, one the finest bands ever to make it out of the North back in the early 70′s. Led by singer songwriter Roy Webber, Wally came out of Harrogate and after playing the usual northern pub rock circuit that included venues in Manchester, Harrogate, Leeds and Bradford, they entered a Melody Maker competition and made it through to the finals at London’s Roundhouse. They didn’t win, that dubious honour went to a “prog rock band” named Druid.
Wed 26th - “BEHIND THE WHITE DOOR” - Monthly punk/garage night. Artists TBC.

JULY
Sat 6th – HAYLEY GAFTARNICK + Olivia Fern - Describing Hayley as inspirational, refreshing and unique, is without doubt accurate, but this only touches the surface of a musical talent whose depth at times seems immeasurable. With a voice which can melt the hardest heart to piercing solid granite rock without ever losing control or technique, the Leeds-based singer-songwriter has established a fan-base far beyond her home city. Having been recognised as one of Leeds’ favourite solo performers, she has now hand-picked a group of musicians, who allow her the freedom to express her rich talent, and stretch her musical boundaries further and further with all genres included, from acoustic, soul/blues, jazz, folk, country, pop and rock, all are given the special Hayley Gaftarnick sound. Her drive and enthusiasm for “live” music and giving artists at the grass-roots level, an opportunity to perform at her various promotions, while refraining from stealing the spotlight, again provides evidence that here is a promoter/artist who promotes for all the right reasons.
Fri 12th – TC & THE MONEYMAKERS - Always an awesome night with Tom Cocks and the gang. Seriously good harmonica driven blues guaranteed to get your foot tapping.
Sat 13th – EDSTOCK SUMMER FESTIVAL – This is gonna be one hell of a day as the Edstock Xmas Festival comes to summer with a special themed event to commemorate 50 years since The Beatles played in York.
