We are lucky to have the services of “Lewis and Duncan” (AKA Helen & Sally) as our ‘cooks in residence. Both formerly of ‘De’Clare’ on Peter Lane [Good Food Guide 2012] they bring you some of the finest pub grub in York. Ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible and dishes will be freshly prepared and cooked daily on the premises. They even offer a snack menu designed for real ale fans looking for a bit of solid grub to keep them going.

The menu will change regularly and feature pub classics, family favourites and more adventurous fare inspired by lands near and far. If you are used to bland, microwaved dross and “2-for-£5″ budget meals then prepare to be disappointed. Lewis and Duncan serve the real deal and we are confident you’ll be satisfied after you’ve eaten.

Serving Times
*PLEASE NOTE THAT THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED ON MONDAYS*
Tuesday-Thursday - 4-8:30pm
Friday/Saturday – 12-8:30pm
Sunday – 12-3pm

It is not necessary to book a table. Due to licensing conditions children must leave the premises by 8pm.

If you would like to eat outside normal serving times (minimum booking 6 people) then please contact us to discuss your requirements (we do not serve after 8:30pm) . Please note that Lewis & Duncan also cater for functions and events. Please email  for enquiries.
